"And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions." Joel 2:28

~Blue&Lavender~ Interview w/ Author Anne Lauren

I would like to welcome back Anne Lauren for an interview.
Let's give her a warm welcome!!

Tell us about yourself?

I am a sunbathing, flip-flop wearing, health seeking storyteller. I love life and seek to extract as much meaning from it as possible. I am passionate about helping others, art and design, anything involving water, and friends.

With my newest project, Blue&Lavender, I seek to encourage people to be the best version of themselves through writing, speaking, and counseling. I share my own personal story of overcoming sexual abuse as a medium to inspire others to heal from pain and pursue their passions.

Can you tell us more about your style of writing?

I want my writing to be accessible and enjoyable for all audiences. I try to interest the reader through an opening story and then delve into how that story relates to my recovery process from sexual abuse. Some stories are heartwarming, some serious, and some funny. Each post is written to share a piece of wisdom that my life has taught me. I really enjoy thinking about how the positive experiences in my life have helped to reframe the negative ones. I hope that my readers enjoy reading my posts as much as I enjoy writing them!

What inspired you to talk and write about Sexual Abuse Recovery?

I have tried to write about my experiences with sexual abuse for quite some time. However, the right words or approach never came. After the #MeToo Movement, I felt ready. I noticed that #MeToo brought so much pain to the surface in my community. Now it's time to heal it! I have devoted the past ten years of my life to sexual abuse recovery and felt that I had a lot of resources and wisdom to share. I started writing and now can't seem to stop!

When you're not writing, what is something you like to do for fun?

My favorite things in life are friends, food, and being a fish. I love the water and swim in pools, lakes, and oceans! Usually, I invite friends to join and we share some great meals, so it all comes together.

If someone can describe you in one sentence, what would they say?

It depends on who you ask! I asked a few friends to answer this and they used the following adjectives to describe me: adventurous, resilient, insightful, loving, honest, and ambitious.
